A warm, understated duplex where contemporary simplicity meets the familiarity of traditional Indian living.
Located in Signature City Colony, Katara Hills, Bhopal, this 3 BHK duplex was completed by Orange Homes in 2024. The interiors were conceived around a simple idea: create a comfortable family home that feels modern and organised while retaining the warmth, craftsmanship and cultural character of an Indian residence.
The design uses rich wooden veneer and wood-finish laminates as its visual foundation, balanced with soft neutral walls, clean surfaces and warm ambient lighting. Rather than following a purely contemporary aesthetic, the home combines modern cabinetry and architectural detailing with traditional furniture, artwork and décor collected around the family's lifestyle.
The bedrooms introduce their own personalities while maintaining the overall design language. Full-height wardrobes, integrated loft storage, upholstered headboards, wall mouldings and layered ceiling treatments provide functionality without making the rooms visually heavy. Deep blue and warm walnut tones add contrast, while brass and gold accents bring subtle richness.
The living and family spaces have a distinctly Indian character, with solid-wood furniture, traditional upholstery, carved artwork and devotional elements sitting naturally alongside contemporary wall panelling and lighting. This deliberate mix gives the residence a lived-in, timeless quality rather than the appearance of a purely styled interior.
